  1. Read that GREIA policy carefully! It excludes more than it covers. Check out First Indemnity and Inspectorpro and tell me what you think of them.
  2. I don't wear a tie...I feel the client is expecting me to explore every nook and cranny of the house, so they expect me to get at least a little dirty. I wear a Duluth Trading FOM button down shirt in steel blue with a pair of Carharrt six-pocket cargo pants. I have my shirts embroidered with my logo and my InterNACHI patch sewn on the sleeve. The shirt has a left and right chest pocket, a cell phone pocket above the chest pocket, and pencil slots on both sleeves. I use an Occidental Leather tool pouch with my flashlight, a mini maglite, a torpedo level, a moisture meter, a microwave test bar, an IR thermometer, Suretest recdeptacle tester, non-contact voltage tester, two lead test probe, compass, Ridgid 12V mini driver with various bits, a clean rag, a marble, a yellow and red lumber crayon, and another minimag flashlight. The rest of my stuff is in the truck.
  3. All good ideas. I would like to tell you all about a pair of gloves I found especially for crawlspaces. They're called Comfort Crawl Gloves and they have elbow length gauntlets with padded rawhide leather for maneuvering with your forearms. Best equipment I've purchased except for my Ultra Stinger. I got them at www.toolexperts.com This is not an advertisement...just some helpful advice. I like the plastic tote idea, as well as the igloo cooler. Does anybody use a gatemouth bag like a Bucket Boss? The bag I have has no structure...it just flops over so you've got to dig for whatever you need. BTW, I wear Tyvek coveralls, a respirator, and a hat. My shoes are slip-on boots (these eliminate having to untie and retie whenever getting into the coveralls). I have the gloves, my flashlight, and my probe in my hands, my camera in my left chest pocket, and a yellow and red lumber crayon for marking deficiencies for the contractor to find. I'm gonna give a gatemouth bag a try.
  4. I know it's been wore oout on here, but I'm looking for some ideas on what you go in the crawlspace with and how. As in...flashlight, probe, camera i.e., and then how you tote it in there. I wear tyvek coveralls, and, without a belt, there's nowhere for tools on my person. I've tried dragging the bag with me, but the bag I was using was flimsy and I had to dig around in it to find what I needed. I wear gloves and a respirator, and I'm looking for more rigidity but still functional. Any ideas??? Come on...chime in on this one!
  5. Also, there is a .com company here in East TN that has some good prices and lightning fast shipping. www.toolexperts.com I buy most of my tools through them.
  6. First of all, the GE Aquant is a non-destructive meter, meaning there are NO PINS. I don't even see a Surveymaster in the pics. How can your test be accurate about a Surveymaster when there's not even one being tested? I'm sure they all have their limitations, but if you're gonna compare a Tramex to a SM, then at least have a SM in the mix. Not angry or sarcastic...just wondering.
  7. www.hi-essentials.com is the URL. They've got all kinds of equipment.
  8. You can get a brand new one with case, handheld probes, wall probes and calibrator for $405.
