Not an inspector - question about what report software actually gets wrong

Not an inspector, I'm a software developer. Been lurking here trying to understand the report writing side of the job from the outside.

What I can't figure out is the daily annoyance. Not the big complaints, the small stuff. The thing that makes you go "again?" every time you sit down to write one up.

If you've switched software in the last couple years, what pushed you to switch. And did it actually fix the thing, or just move the annoyance somewhere else.

Happy to be told I'm asking the wrong question.
