  1. Thanks I needthem to eat! Can you zoom in on you windows to see the corners they should have peel and stick tabs on them to help keep the water out!! Pella nail fins have a void at the corners let alone te sides are not flashed with there wonder flashing or so it appears. My understanding is the tyvek should not come in contact with masonry or it is prone to failure!!! Dont get me wrong tyvek will hold water out and I know that for a fact because I have seen it hold water in. They just have some installation flaws and will not listen to anybody that trys to tell them that! In the kansas city metro anyway. And then the window companys are the same way.
  2. Not only problems with window installation backer rod ,flashing, sealant. Good chance the tyvek is wraped in at the head of the window instead of out over the nail fin or flahsing! Tyvek has several problems with their installation specs! How would anybody like to have this house in joco kansas? No tyvek or anything else after the bricklayer ran out of felt! http://www.badstucco.com/bricks/bricks.htm
  3. what should happen to the city codes inspector who could have stopped this and did not? And the builder who said o no that could cost me a sell!! http://www.badstucco.com/bricks/bricks.htm
  4. Thanks Mike!! I have taked to lisa in pa. What the biulder, codes people,(wana be stuccoman) did there was just wrong!!!! Although there are a lot of problems around the KC metro with stuccomen there are more with the cut throat builders beating down all the subs for profit!! And why dont the codes people see these violations of moisture barrier and stop it where are their heads? The carpenters install the windows and 1st layer of the moisture barrier wrong and lets not leave out flashing or lack of! My thoughts are the houses are set up to fail before the stucco man gets there. Thanks Carl ps I know my website is not as nice or as fancy as some but I have no corprate sponsors just a friend who plays with websites. And I needed a place to vent. For me its not about the web its about the quality of the trades going down hill. Thanks again for the info
  5. What about all the holes in the paperback lath and lack of flashing? Like on my websitewww.badstucco.com Rambo what part of town are you in? Besides under windows is a spot that is easy pickings for moisture and damage 99.9% of the windows are improperly installed! Weither it has to do with moisture barrier or lack of flashing at the head of the window and at the bottom or the lack of backer rod and sealant around the window like the windows call for!!!!!!!!
  6. Hey Donald, The lick and stick stone is to be applied over 3.4 lath according to the manufacturer specs. The lath is supposed to be scratched just like for a three coat stucco system completely cover with mud. That is to help with holding the stone on the wall. Then you butter the back of the stones and stick the and dress up the joints.
  7. Danny, I am new to this forum. But there should be control joints at the plate line on and up and down from every opening weither it is a door or window. I understand they have a lot of problems in florida due to the lack of moisture barrier on the block section of the houses.
  8. Hey Donald If you would please check out the leaks 101 a primer and let me know what you think. And in most of the pictures if you click on them they get bigger Thanks Carl
  9. There is a website called www.badstucco.com there you guys/gals will find a lot of pictures of how not to do stucco. There are problems with paperback lath/windows/flashing/housewraps. The pictures were taken in the Kansas City Kansas metro area. It seems to be a GREED driven market. Instead of QUALITY. The homeowners are not aware of what they are getting. The codes people are not doing their job. The builders are keeping the subs beat down on there price and putting the extra money in their pockets.
