  1. I use my small tough book & Palm tech 6 on site to do my report & take lots of pictures, i return to office & go over pictures & review the report on my laptop, then merge the pictures into a picture file & email the report in a pdf format, i did the handwritten when i first started & felt more comfortable, but doing the report on site with a small lap top saves lots of time.
  2. Due to the age of the residence it would be prudent to have the complete house electrical system evaluated & accessed by a licensed electrician.
  3. I use Palmtech & love the software & the support
  4. I have a toughbook T7 with xp that i run Palm-Tech on & i love it, weighs about 3lbs & i have dropped it more than once & its waterproof, just wish the had strap would have been more durable, it has broke & i cant find a replacement. Its is much lighter than the 19 my partner uses, i bought it off of ebay over a year ago, they said it was a demo, have never had a problem with it, battery last all day, they say 9 hours & im sure i have gone that long or longer with it. http://www.buytough.com/cf-t7.asp
  5. I noticed the attic access was with a pull down ceiling ladder in the garage. I'm also rookie troy, but i always add this comment, maybe I'm the only one that uses it since i didn't see a mention of it by the veterans on the site. I like your bravery in throwing yourself to the wolfs to grade your report, i wish there was a section where we could all do this, there is a lot of seasoned HI here & their input & advice would be very beneficial & priceless to the new guys breaking into the trade. (The attic ladder, in the ceiling of the garage, is constructed of wood - this would be considered a breach of the fire separation between the garage and residence.)
  6. heres what i use & i change the wording somtimes if its a remodel It would appear that there was an addition(s) to the residence at sometime in the past. We suggest that you ask to see permits for these addition(s) and/or review the Property Disclosure Statement regarding the addition(s). We make this suggestion as a courtesy as this may protect you when you wish to resell the residence. If permits are available we suggest you obtain copies for your records.
  7. Whats a crawl space never seen one of them before[]
