  1. Closed-cell foam has tiny foam cells that are closed and packed together. These holes are filled with a gas that helps the foam rise and help in insulation. In Open-cell foam the tiny cells are not closely packed. You can make out difference by pressing them. Open cell foam has softer felling than closed foam.
  2. It is dry cellulose which was used in retrofitting old homes. The cellulose was blowed into the holes on top of the walls.
  3. It can be cotton insulation. Earlier people used cotton extensively for insulation as it was economical.
  4. Yes it rockwool insulation which is grey in color.
