There's this rectangular box that I finally opened at the end of my inspection. It was full of black water with some foam on top and lots of tiny bugs in the foam. Didn't smell that good either. It's on the far side of the house past the garage. Water and sewer is provided via the county. There is sub surface gutter drains. A friend though maybe they dumped out into this box for some reason. Speaking of dogs, I looked at the worst mfg hm yesterday and the worst house today. The floors came uphill to the exterior walls. No crawl access or vents.[:-crazy]

Just came off this roof when the owner started talking about it being only 3 years old. I asked if he did the work. No, some roofer did? I've never seen two toilets working against each other. That final drain was even a bit uphill. Good thing it was a single guy living there.

Light over sink. Sniff lights up when light on or off when touching metal above bulb. Lights up when light on and touching the pull chain. Light working off wall switch also. Whatcha think? My son has put 5/8 plywood down on top of solid decking in his kitchen. Finish floor will be wood like tile. We're wondering if he needs to put cement board down or Red Guard, or nothing at all? Would Red Guard just around the plumbing areas be of any benefit? I have an entry way with tile on plywood and an area upstairs in front of our shower the same way that has held up for 20+ years. What'cha think?

I put in a recommendation for HVAC checkup due to wall heaters always get dirty and can start putting out CO gas. I did not mention the soot thing. The roof was too steep to walk out on so I went by the venting in the attic was good and the flame was good. I think if I has been able to walk up to it and notice the soot better then I would have added that too. Thanks for the replies.
