  2. I thought I read that Square D breakers are allowed to be double taped due to their design. Is This writen spacificly into the code book? Thanks, Rick
  3. The first pis looks like a typical crack at the intersection of eps boards at a corner, this is the pic that threw me off. The last two pics do not look like the back of EPS boards, so I stand corrected.
  4. I'm a little confused... the pics to me look more like EIFS than stucco...I don't think the two words are interchangable, but maybe I am way off base.
  5. Great timing guys! I have been thinking about this for a few weeks now I am working on a basement refinishing project as I try to surrvive as I continue to aprentice with a local home inspector. In the picture below you can see the 4" abs waste pipe, the home owners want to add a wet bar in the basement. To make this work I think I will need to add a sewer ejector pump. My question is can I tie in both the vent pipe and the waste pipe from the ejector pump into the 4" pipe shown in the picture? The cast Iron pipe thru the foundation is about 30" from the basement floor to the center of the pipe. If I put the vent pipe above the waste pipe will that work? Click to Enlarge 71.18 KB
  6. warning slight thread drift...new to the business, realized early on that while I have experience in the trades, I will be a better inspector down the road if I can find someone to apprentice under. I now have a mentor who just called to tell me that the phone is ringing off the hook and we need to figure a way to get more of the report done on site. So what do ya'll think about me bringing a small netbook, with report software on it, along with on the inspections. My thoughts are it will help me to learn the report writing software, while also allowing me to observe how to conduct inspections. In theory it will cut down on the amount of time my mentor will have to spend completing reports at night. Is this a good educational tool for me? Do you think it will actually help cut down the amount of time needed to complete reports at night?
  7. so true, I am aprenciting right now, feel lucky to have found someone to work under in this economy. sorry for the hijack. Rick
  8. hello, When I took the exam I studied " Home Inspection Exam Prep" by Carson Dunlop and Associates for a week before hand. The practice questions helped tremendously and once I started to get passing scores, I felt confident I would pass when I took the exam, and in fact I did. Rick
  9. I have heard this before " a happy customer tells no one ( or at least very few ) and an unhappy customer tells twenty people! " no idea if there is any validity to that but I know I tend to tell my freinds about the unhappy experiences more so than the happy ones. I guess it is a warrning to them.
