randynavarro
Beautiful home. Flat roof. Modifed bit/ with mineral granular coating. Basically a pretty brilliant looking install. Cleaner than clean. Just for fun, I take my Protimeter out and set it around the skylight. All dry. No problem. But then, it pegs in an area about 1 square foot about 6" from the side curb - thats it!! Problem? or just an anomaly?
rjw
I haven't worked with one myself - my understanding is that there are several things besides moisture which cause it to read high. I'll stick with my pin sticker....
swarga
Metal will cause the meter to peg. It could be a nail, a connector or some other metal object. If your meter has pins (like the surveymaster)use those and it will answer the question; is this wet.
randynavarro
Yea, thanks Scott. I'm thinking I was probably hitting some metal fasteners. I'm aware of metal setting the meter off. I'm just so paranoid. . . what with flat roofs . . . in Seattle!! Interesting suggestion about the pins. You would poke some holes in a roof deck? swarga
I would poke holes, not all the way through, but if it is that wet it will register as soon as you touch it and you wont have to poke it very hard.
