Code Compliance request

I live in wisconsin a was wondering what to use as reference material for compliance and what is acceptable...is there one all-inclusive (national) book that is used...

No such luck Ed, that varies from place to place depending on what code is adopted in a given area (city, county, state, etc.). The most widely used and accepted is the International Residential Code, but there are many, many others still in use out there.
