  1. Good pics Jim, seems like amateur installation is one of the highest problem detected. Well i can see this problem coming soon to our part of town. Here every new building construction has the poly-b installation or the PEX"
  2. In our town, galvanized has a limit of use between 40 to 45 years. I agree that we could still find 100 years old galvanized but i am not sure about the water pressure and quality. Cast iron is about the same age average. I always recommend to make a closer verification to the sewer system by a certified plumber with the help a telescopic camera to verify the intergity of the inside piping and that before the acceptation of the condition of the inspection in the present promise to purchase. ( here an inspection is a condition to buy in a form called promise to purchase) Usually the plumbers find some roots and other growing stuff inside the pipes.

  7. Hi there , here in our code it is important to have the presence of a door that has an automatic shut off if ever you kept this door opened plus a proper weather stripper that will prevent any CO gas that could infiltrate thrue this opening. It is important to prevent any infiltrations from fire propagtion or /and CO gas by having those type of components; and that for the security of the occupants.(But i know that the codes are different in your part of the counrty! By the way Gsozz Lightcatcher winery In fort Worth ?? This where i'm going to get married ...
  8. Well i know that radon is the second cause of cancer to people in any buildings that are not protected from those ground gas . Although , The EPA ( United State environmental protection agency) reports multiple problems of health coming from Radon. From my point of view, any inside soil, in buildings, should be protected by the installation of a polyethylene .It should cover the entire sanitary space to block those nocive gas. Radon have different concentration depending of the type of soil or district. I think it is important to know the concentrations of Radon gas where problems have been reported in your city. In that case ,it is important to advise your client on this problem for his safety, in your report. (sorry for my spelling , i'm french)
