Thanks for the replies. Does anyone carry a separate liability policy (no e&o)? I got a quote from a local guy for $500/yr for general liability. A little higher than I expected, but maybe it's because I'm just starting out.

As I'm getting ready to start my business, one of the last things to do is purchase liability insurance. I would greatly appreciate advice on this; ie: how much insurance to carry, any good/bad insurance companies that you've had dealings with, etc. I don't plan to purchase E&O insurance. Thanks in advance!

I will (finally, after delays) be starting an inspection service soon. Can you all give me some guidelines on how to set inspection fees? I'd rather not start with a fee and have to change it soon after. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I just purchased CCC to study for my state exam, and I am so glad I have it. It is so much easier to understand things when you have illustrations to look at. It will be a great resource for inspections, I'm sure. Also, the construction of the book seems very high quality (durable). Highly recommended! [:-thumbu]

We had the same thing happen in our bedroom fixture! When the CFLs eventually burned out and were replaced with another brand (but still CFLs), the problem went away.

If it were mine, I'd top it off w/ distilled water (if it has removeable caps), and have it load tested at an auto parts store.

That was my first thought also!

I believe Chad has the right idea. On an older house with no vapor barrier, the warm air migrates through the wall surfaces and ends up under the paint, lifting it and forming the blisters.

Wasn't sure which forum to post this. I just completed a HI training course, and my next step will be to pass the SD state exam. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what to study or how to prepare for the exam? Thanks in advance for any help.
