Robert Jones
Can't say that I have seen this setup before. Why attach the poly to the copper branch lines like this? Click to Enlarge 89.12 KB
John Kogel
It just looks like someone was simply adding a hot and cold supply, maybe to a laundry sink or something, and never got on with it. It's a leak waiting to start, I suppose. You mean you've never left a project hanging like that? []
Robert Jones
Now John that was the first thing that came to mind, but I was in the crawl space below the main bathroom(middle of the home) in that pic. I guess they could have been wanting to run a hot/cold bib out from the crawl to the side of the home. 21 year old home, original owner.
Darren
Robert, Is that termite mud on the beam in the left side of the picture?
randynavarro
I would have thought water supply to a laundry facility also. Why else would there be a trap that close to the outside edge of the crawl space unless it was catching water from a washer box? I can't say that you may ever find a good reason for why that is like that.
