I found this in the crawl of a nicely remodeled 1954 rambler today (new heater in a much more sensible place). Odd that the jacket is total gone. Hard to believe it rusted completely away. Perhaps they thought they could get it out of the access hatch by making it a bit smaller...and then realized there was still no way out?
