  1. I too love my job, but ---- Bob White
  2. I take a gazillion pics --- record some notes on my digital voice recorder --- go to my home office and compile the report on an openoffice document table template (including som pics --- the rest are just "memory enhancers") -- table format forces pics to stay with comments without a lot of tweaking on my part. I export the finished report to PDF and email it to my client. I am thinking of creating the same template for my openoffice spreadsheet program. I think that reprt generation would be even faster there. Bob White Abide-Able Home Inspections www.Abide-Able.com
  3. Izzat $400 US or $400 Canadian?
  4. I've seen recommendations of 1/4" per 3' to 1/8" per foot. I don't think (in GA, anyway) that there's a legal max/min. I'd say (not much help, I know), "if it don't feel or look right, it ain't right. "
  5. I'm still trying to get through Introduction to Marketing. Marketing 101 comes later. Thanks again all, Bob White
  6. Thanks for the info Scott and Chris --- Write an article for the local paper, eh? I've thought about that one, just haven't gotten off my rear and done it. Beats feeding donuts to the agents indeed. As for national orgs, . . . oh, never mind. Bob White
  7. I hope this is the right forum . . . I was contacted yesterday by a rep from Servicemagic, a referral operation. As my business is less than a year old and I can always stand more referrals, I am consiering their proposition ($99 start up, then $11 per referral) Iwas told at another forum that, once getting the referral info, I'm than competing with 3 other local inspection firms to close the deal with the client. Does anyone here have experience with Servicemagic? Do you have experience with other referral services? What are your impressions of these operations? Bob White
  8. My own home sufferd soffit/ fascia damage and rot due to gutters overflowing and dumping extra water back into the attic / soffits . . . It happened during a summer much like this one -- way to many frog drowning rainstorms in too short a period of time. Ended up tearing the gutters off (until the woman who runs the house made me get gutters back up). . . Bob White
  9. If you raise those jumpers tom minimum required clearance off roof, all is OK, right?[:-graduat Bob White
  10. They look like resistors (though I can't think of a reason for them here) . . . Maybe this is someones idea of permanently marking the white conductor when it's being used for line voltage? Do these conductors have the same "marking" at the other end?[:-spin] Bob White
