  1. Damn it Chad. Just more proof that my eyes are aging...[:-banghea
  2. Danka friends.
  3. Home built in 1967. This was at the front of the home, near the stem wall. Pretty much in line with the water meter. Click to Enlarge 67.81 KB
  4. To the right of the sink is the gfci device. The receptacle to the left of the sink would be downstream. The plug/chord you see plugged in to the gfci, is from the microwave.
  5. A flip house, built in 1976. Besides the ridiculous location for the microwave, it is plugged in to the counter GFCI outlet. When I tripped the outlet, the microwave did not lose power. The other counter receptacle did lose power. What would cause this? Click to Enlarge 27.74 KB
  6. Thanks guys.
  7. Can't confidently confirm, it's not Hardie.
  8. I can't say that I have ever seen these. Home built in 1993, looked like thick cardboard. Anyone familiar with them? Name? Click to Enlarge 52.79 KB Click to Enlarge 49.35 KB
  9. Thanks guys.
  10. Chad, Just strange that the leak or leaks in this case are only showing at the front.
  11. The humidity levels were normal in the home. No cans. No forced air but wall heaters. I did look at the gutter edge and did see roofing paper. The water appears to be literally pouring in the home. The main section, is now covered with tarp which did stop the water from entering the home. I couldn't find any damaged sheetrock. The other strange thing, is that it's only happening at the front plane of the roof, nothing at the back.
  12. Not really a lot of snow in this area. A ton of rain, but, very little snow. It is a simple 4/12 gable roof.
  13. A previous client contacted me about a roof leak that was occurring at their home. Has been about 18 months since the inspection. The home was built in 2007, 20yr three-tab shingle roof. What has me scratching my head, is where the leak(s) is showing. Not at a seam. Not at a roof can. Right in the middle of the sheathing. The shingles appear to have been installed correctly. All of the key's were over the shingle below. Took a while for this to show. My first instinct is a nail head? Any other suggestions? 14. Kurt, The "flexible" Duluth pant is awesome. IMO, heavy enough for all season's.
  15. You may be spot on Kurt. Had a gas insert in the firebox. Sounds like they might be dealing with a combo.
  16. Anyone have any experience with these type of vertical cracks in a brick chase? Home was built in 1978. Is it a moisture issue? Click to Enlarge 47.03 KB Click to Enlarge 48.21 KB
  17. Interesting new tool to be available some time later this year. Click Here
  18. That just made my head hurt!
  19. It is Kurt. Front of the building facing north. Open soffits and ridge cans for ventilation.
  20. Had a multi-family building inspection this morning. Temperature was about 25 degrees. The underside of the sheathing was frosted over in the attic cavity. What was strange, for me anyway, was that all of the loose fill fiberglass insulation felt "wet". Can't say that i have ever run into this. The ventilation was good. Looking at the color of the insulation, which was originally white, it appears mildewy(sp?). Has anyone run in to this? Click to Enlarge 41.44 KB Click to Enlarge 66.22 KB
  21. Thanks Erby. I just am running in to some blurry pics below sinks etc... I think I will try your flash "ON" and see if that helps.
  22. So, I picked up the Ricoh WG-4. Have tried the "auto" setting and not liking it too much. Anyone have this camera willing to share what settings you might have found works best in our gig?
  23. I might be a little more worried about what looks like PB piping, in the second pick.
