  1. Somebody today mentioned to me today that they thougt there was a valve that you can put on a washing machine supply line that stops the water in the event that a leak would occur. Have you guys heard of this? And what are they called? link?
  2. What are the orange tubes for (coax, ground???)? I figured i'd ask you guys before somebody asks me... Click to Enlarge 50.55 KB
  3. One more thing... Is there any advantage to having it plumbed to the exterior of the home? (other than sucking indoor air polutants into the system?)
  4. Thanks Mike.
  5. Just wanted to let you guys know that i just recieved the new stinger hp led and the light is almost too bright. I have to switch it to medium or low to look in panels. I really like it because you dont have to take the batteries out to charge it, and its much smaller than the other stingers (around9" long) but the head is wide enough that it still fits in my pouch ring (just doesnt bang against my leg when i walk like the mags do). Im not ripping you Fenix guys out there (ill probly end up with one of them too...) but this new led stinger is nice...
  6. Hey guys, this is the second time ive run into a high efficiency furnace that doesnt have its intake pipe (see pic) plumbed to the exterior of the home. Does this not allow the furnace to run as efficiently as possible? What would the concerns of having it installed this way? Any thoughts would help? Thanks in advanced. Click to Enlarge 37.99 KB
  7. This is in a dry basement, limited to a about 4 foot of the rim joist.
  8. Thanks guys, thats what i thought, but i just wanted to make sure!
  9. Powder post? Termites? Ants? Any ideas? They didnt get to the joists ends, but they got the bottom of the band joist. It does seem powdery when probed, and my screwdriver didnt go all the way through. No wood soil contact anywhere nearby and i didnt see any tubes. Normally i would just ask the bug guys what it is, but, i found it on my house... Click to Enlarge 52.72 KB Click to Enlarge 46.31 KB Click to Enlarge 51.17 KB Click to Enlarge 50.29 KB
  10. Nevermind, i found them...
  11. Opps... Sorry... Batteries? Not rechargable? Where do you get them?
  12. well, ill have to let you guys know how the HP LED one is, its on its way... So whats up with the batteries with those Felix lights, where do you get them if you cant charge them?
  13. So where do you get replacements?
  14. Is there any reason to routinly flush a boilers expansion tank? I never read that this is needed, but an agent was trying to convince me otherwise today.
  15. Is that light rechargable? If so, what kind of charger does it come with and how long to charge the battery?
  16. I have one of the new stinger LED HP's on the way too, that will save me some weight. I like having everything (almost) right there. Download Attachment: pouch1.jpg 1038.4 KB Download Attachment: pouch2.jpg 1041.99 KB Download Attachment: pouch3.jpg 773.59 KB
  17. Im sure thats a nice set up too. The guy that I mirrored did the tool pouch thing and i guess thats all i know now. It would be weird for me not having everything right there on my side.
  18. How do you guys carry them around? Does it have a ring or do you just put it in your pocket? I use a tool pouch and i like being able to just throw it in and out of its ring.
  19. couldnt help myself... i ordered the Streamlight® Stinger® HP C4® LED - AC & DC Fast - 75785. Although I have to say, the Felix does look cool, and small.
  20. I use a custom tool belt that i kind of built around what i choose to carry... In the top pocket i keep all my electrical tools. The middle pocket has a lighter, sockets and bits. The large main pocket has my moisture meter pouch sewn into the one corner that i made for its protection, a power screw driver, mirror, wrench, pliars, and a multi screwdriver. The lowest pocket fits my camera and a couple extra panel screws. My flashlight hangs off the front in an altered hammer holder (i had to smash it together a little, it was too wide) Then i also use a little tape measure pocket that i hooked onto the back side of the main pouch for a tape measure (mostly to keep clients busy if they want it), a telescopic magnet, a torpedo level, a small LED flashlight with a laser, and a service wire guage. I also take a 12' Cosco little giant like ladder into the house for goofy attic hatches. 28" 200 lb rated aluminum extension ladder with self levelers. (now wish i had bought a fiberglass one, this one is bouncy at times)In the car i have a ventilator, knee pads, gloves, rain gear and boots, and...tp. I have a tool bag in the car with a few other random things that i rarely use, and back ups of a bunch of the above stuff. I leave the bag in the car. The only time i ever took it in with me i left it there... i guess i went on a little there...
  21. hmmm. Intresting opinion. Anyone else?
  22. Hey guys. Im in the market for my first "good" flashlight. I have been using 3D mags, there ok, but they are not that bright and the switches keep going on them. I want to get a rechargable light and Im doing my best to find a good LED so i dont have to replace bulbs once a month. Do you guys have any experience with the streamlights out there? I was looking at the Streamlight® Stinger® HP C4® LED - AC & DC Fast - 75785... Any thoughts? here is a link: http://www.streamlight-flashlights.com/ ... 75785.html
  23. What is your opinion of these push in wire connectors? They are really easy to use, i just wonder how they will hold up over time... Thoughts? Click to Enlarge 28.58 KB
  24. thanks... and I thought this was a stupid question!
  25. Im assuming that since the transformer is in the light fixture, that the wires should be 12?
