  1. Thats the main reason why I want it, the auto lock feature. I'm horrible about locking the door...
  2. I'm thinking about buying one of the Schlage key-pads for my garage. My concern is the door gets all the weather. No shade from anything. Does anyone have any experience with these? here

  4. I wish I would have stopped and taken a picture, you guys would have gotten a good a laugh.
  5. As I was driving home the other day, a house down the street from me was having a new roof installed. I live in a cookie cutter neighborhood, so all the houses are look and are built the same. Small 1200SF ranch on slab. 2x4 truss, with 5/8 OSB sheeting. I could not help but notice as the crew of guys where tearing off the old roof they were not dumpster diving with the shingles....Instead, they were stacking ALL the shingles on one edge of the peak. There had to be a 5-6 foot tall stack of shingles on a 3-4 sq ft spot on this house.[:-bigeyes[:-bigeyes[:-bigeyes I was waiting for disaster to strike. Just think of the weight on that section.... [:-crazy]
  6. Um...I am the only one who uses/like/prefers warm or hot water when washing his hands?[:-eyebrow
  7. Chances are good that Sparky won't have a clue. The voltage drop provisions are an unenforceable "fine print note" in the NEC. I used to routinely measure voltage drops of 10-20% before my Suretest got stolen. My advice is to throw away your Suretest. I was referring to the rest of the issue's not the VD. Besides, wouldn't selling it be a better route?[]
  8. [:-bigeyes[:-bigeyes[:-bigeyes [] I like it when you don't need to actually time to respond...
  9. Guys don't foget to stab your screwdriver in the panel the next time you think it's aluminum wire. This guys trying to get rid of the competion.[:-eyebrow
  10. Looks a lot like MDF to me, I've never really agreed to the 3-4 day acclimation time, but never had the brass you know what to test my theory....[]
  11. I had a bathroom the other day with 12.8vd @20amp. The house had many other eletrical issues as well, no grounds on half of the plugs, doubletaps, ect.... Time to call old Sparky!
  12. Hmmm.....interesting plan.
  13. Perhaps the floor was never given the proper acclimation time.
  14. Oh, thats easy. Grab your BFH create a hole in the tile.
  15. tickles all the senses...[]
  16. Had one yesterday, and found this in the bathroom.[:-bigeyes How much water do you think is in that duct work? Only bath in the house, so the shower gets used a lot. Click to Enlarge 27.21 KBo the shower gets used a lot.
  17. Looks like a future nightmare to me. By the time someone noticed a leak, you would need a plumber, tile man, carpenter, ect...[:-crazy]
  18. Gotcha, from now on it shall be know as a "sediment trap". []
  19. We all know we are not code inspectors, however when we come across something that needs attention most people seem to thing we should know every code for every aspect. Lets take a Dirt Leg at a WH for example. What do you guys do when you see a old install missing a dirt leg? Do you wite is up as "needs" a dirt leg? Or do you leave it be since it was installed before it was required to have a leg? Are HI expected to remember the year changes on "major" code items? Maybe some guys carry a cheat sheet of codes and years?
  20. I tried a few years ago to cut out a cast vent pipe with a saw-zall. Kinda like trying to kill a grizzly bear with a bb gun.....Went and got one of those ratching chain cutters, had it in two in less than 5 min. Worked like a charm. However, for a winter fix, drop by HD and get a small jug of Fiberglass resin, and the woven matt. Cut the matt in 4" strips, duct tape the top of it to the pipe and let it hand down. Brush a little resin on the pipe ( to make it sticky) lay a 3-4 layers of the matt. Depending on temp, it might take a day or two to set. But when it does, it's never comming off.

    Fluke 62

I agree, I don't think they are super accurate. However, when the vents are out of reach, it would seem handy to have. Just curious if anyone has used/owned the 62.
  24. Any thoughts? I've found it for around 80.00 shipped. Price is right, but what about use..... Fluke 62
