Neal Lewis
The aluminum body of this 7 year old hot water boiler gas valve is heavily corroded. There was no indication that this was the result of a flooded basement. Would this have an effect on the reliability of the valve? Thanks. Chad Fabry
The corrosion all but certainly won't affect function. That said, I bet there's a drafting issue and the valve is exposed to combustion by-products on a regular basis.
Tom Raymond
There is rust on every metal surface in that pic. That thing lives in a hostile environment. Maybe not under water, but always wet.
