    famous last words, It's not done yet. That's what a carpenter I used to work wiyh would say just before I ripped his mornings work off the wall. It's BS and it's done!

    Hot water boiler gas fired. At or past the end of its's design life. It's just a boiler, not a rocket engine.

    Thanks Kyle, Yes Natural gas furnace with a gas water heater within 12 inches. Combustion air supplied from exterior vents behind furnace. Have some concern that the close proximity of the supply air vents to the rear of the furnace housing would cause enough temp differential to damage the exchanger? The water heater is also very close to the filter access opening creating an exhaust to supply air problem also.

    Hello everyone. I am new to this forum but not to the industry. Is there an air intake vent clearance distance from a furnace and also is there a water heater clearance from a furnace. Both are located in a small closet. Thanks , Wayne
