What would folks spec as a good, better, best, material for a dirt floor crawlspace?

I'm looking for brand names, mil/thickness/weight, etc. , w/any other links or product info one might have.

I tried a search, but wasn't having luck w/the findings; would there be a way to search the site that would find this stuff for me?

I recommend only 6 mil black plastic sheeting (the heavy stuff). The clear stuff will break down way sooner, particularly if any daylight gets to it via vents, etc. If they go cheapo it's on them.

There is a sheeting that my company uses for waterproofing. It resembles the sheeting that is used for shower bases, a bit heavier, a lot wider. I'll check it out tomorrow.

If you don't want to shell out the bucks for EPDM, just duct tape together some dry cleaning bags.

Seriously, the best would be cross-laminated high-density polyethylene. Google "Permalon" and "Armorlon".
