  1. Keep your eye on Amazon, I picked one up a couple months ago after reading about it on this site. It was in excellent condition:) Date: November 21, 2009 Amazon Order #: 102-1274865-5525022 1 of Electrical Inspection of Existing Dwellings, $9.50 Shipping & Handling: $3.99 Tax: Total: $13.49
  2. Hey Mike, if you change your mind about the poltergeist thing I have some slightly used equipment... Click to Enlarge 63.18 KB Click to Enlarge 37 KB
  3. Okay thanks, That explains the goofy ductwork. The electric heat had been converted to forced air.
  4. Has anybody ever seen one of these? This was attached to the front patio. Click to Enlarge 78 KB What's funny is this home (built in 1968) was equipped with FP Stablock breakers.
  5. It's not as difficult to find evidence of something you knew to be there. Why didn't they call Mr. Holmes as one of the four unsuspecting targets? If he was on the other end of a sting, would he be as diligent?
  6. What would be the proper name used to describe these "fake chimneys" There are many of them in this area. All they seem to do is prohibit a good inspection of the flue. None that I've seen had the original furnace or flue. I guess keeping it saves on patching the roof.[?] Click to Enlarge 36.47 KB Click to Enlarge 56.09 KB Click to Enlarge 76.24 KB
  7. A package terminal unit is a type of self contained unit. A window unit is another.
  8. Thank you all for your responses. I've only been inspecting a few years and sometimes worry too much when I see the unfamiliar. I was concerned about the radii of the overcuts somehow isolating the bearing surface. After thinking about what was discussed I don't see this as a problem anymore. Thanks again. 9. This beam pocket in a 9' basement wall was saw cut instead of cast. All of the beam pockets are simular. The original pockets were cast, but for some reason were lowered (9' wall maybe?)I haven't come across this method and was wondering if it is acceptable or deficient. This area has a crack that has leaked where it intercepts a cold joint but shows no movement. This foundation is 9 years old and holding up a manufactured home. In your opinion, how should I report this? Thanks for any help, Click to Enlarge 32.57 KB what should I report? P.S. Notice the professional plumbing and electrical installations.
  10. Recall update- They no longer replace the venting for free, you now get a "rebate". Just inspected one yesterday with about 2 tubes of silicone covering every joint.
  11. I am happy with my Ranger except for the head room. I've put over 80,000 miles on her in 2 years and already replaced the alternator. If I can get another 2 years and 100,000 out of her without too much repair I'll get another one with an extended cab. I get a solid 25 mpg and have only needed a full size pick-up once since I down sized.
  12. I just finished reading this thread, loved the "Deal Killer". Has the recent turn of events for the auto industry affected anyone's preferences or opinions?
  13. Why are some sump liners perforated, and some solid with only the perimeter drain entering?
