palmettoinspect
2006 Beazer home the windows had metal drip flashing above the vinyl windows with wood trim above the metal drip flashing. No leaks just seamed kind of odd. Checked house next door it was the same way. What do ya'll think about it? Bain
They screwed up. The window's nailing flange acts as flashing beneath the brickmold. The head flashing is supposed to be ON TOP of the brickmold.
Scottpat
Head flashing when installed properly protects the wood..... Last I looked vinyl does not rot all that fast!
Tom Raymond
Are you sure it was metal? Some nail flanges include an integral drip cap, but it's a really soft durometer vinyl. Either way there should still be a drip cap above the head trim. Production builders drive me nuts, for about $20 more per window they could have an integral brickmold look J channel. They spent more than that on the wood brickmold, then paid someone to install it wrong, and they still need to buy and install J[:-banghea
emalernee
Is that wood brickmold or the vinyl J channel that the siding runs behind? The picture is not clear enough on my computer to tell. Ezra Malernee Canton, Ohio

hausdok
All they really needed there would have been three small stainless steel washers between the head flashing and the bottom of that trim and they would have been good to go. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
