Also, the tortured cut and place of those siding pieces above the roof surface, if that is hardi-type siding, is not allowing quite the recommended 3/4" clearance. The HardiePlank specs I got have a 2" clearance from the roof, a kick-out flashing where the roof terminates, and a 1" gutter clearance from side wall.
