mlparham 0
It may be a combination termites and beetles as well as ants at the bottom of the pier. What is the age of the home and was the infestation found in a basement or crawl space?
Marc 83
In my area, it's the drywood termites that kick out the frass, the powder post beetles do not. Marc
kurt 2
Crawlspace. Not termites, we don't have dry wood 'mites. Not ants.
Les 80
Powder post beetles. painting surface white is common way to gauge activity as well as improve appearance. Beetles can leave large piles of frass.
hausdok 19
Yeah, lyctids (PPB), We don't have those out here; but we do have anobiidae (death watch beetles). They favor the exact same environment that lyctids favor and the damage and frass looks just about identical. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
