drw
I noted a humidifier tapped to a hot water pipe the other day. I'm pretty sure SOP is to tap into a cold water pipe. Just wondering if there is a downside to using hot water, other than the fact that hot water is more expensive than cold.
kurt
The supposed upside is that the hot water evaporates quicker. I hooked my own humidifier up to hot water; it seems to work better.
Les
Required to tap hot water in every jurisdiction we work in in mich. Less sediment, tempered water, "cleaner" water, etc..
carle3
In S.E. Wisconsin we have a lot of wells and city water supplies with hard water. If was found not only does the humidifier work better with warm water but that there was the added benefit of less scaling from the softened hot water. This resulted in longer filter life.
