CheckItOut
I found some ultravent exhaust pipe on a furnace today and my literature says the black and grey is the recalled pipe. This pipe was white. It the white okay? Thanks!
John Dirks Jr
The white is PVC. PVC is used for venting high efficiency furnaces. Was it a high efficiency furnace with two vent pipes? One pipe is for combustion air intake and the other is for exhaust. If this is what you saw then the material used (PVC) is standard for the application and is ok. No, it was not a high efficiency and it specifically said "ultravent" but my literature says the gray and black ultravent is the problem prone recalled stuff. I think I'll call the # on the CSP sheet.
CheckItOut
The CPSC said the white is subject to recall as well for horizontal thru-the-wall systems. Their ph # is: 800 758 3688.

hoosier inspector
Recall update- They no longer replace the venting for free, you now get a "rebate". Just inspected one yesterday with about 2 tubes of silicone covering every joint.
