  1. It should sound sensual, I wasn't wearing anything but vaseline and a beret when I wrote it. Friggin beautiful! This guy was one of my instructors. Shit! It all makes sense now. The sheep, the Blueberries,...
  2. I noticed it was an old article. Thought I'd throw it out there to see if I was the only one who missed it. Looks like I was.
  3. Interesting.
  4. I'd dump proactive all together. Maybe it's only me but, trendy words / terms like proactive, closure, ramp up, spot on, and the like, sound phony to me. I don't know why. It just does. Merry Christmas, everyone.
  5. I'm told the guys that flipped this house, are none other than the two sons of a very good friend of mine, who just happens to sit on the E board of the plumbing local here. They also have an uncle who will likely get the nod to straighten this mess out. I can only imagine the fun they'll have at the family Christmas eve party. 6. Hi Brian, Copper pipes are still used because they're really cool looking. You know. All coppery and shiny.
  7. It reminds me of these
  8. Is there any documentation to back us up on the "insurance company won't write you" statement? I've seen this written a number of times before, but I hesitate to repeat it without something to fall back on. Are they all on board with this, or are the percentages different from one insurance carrier to the next?
  9. I hope you have enough good sense to only eat flame broiled burgers. It wasn't all that long ago they claimed fried hamburgers were tied to cancer. Remember? On the other hand, the word Lycopene was proudly displayed on ketchup bottles for a while, with a discription of how it was an antioxidant that could lower the risk of heart disease and cancer. ketchup may be the only thing that can save you. Make sure you use lots of it on your burgers, and keep the burgers away from granite counter tops.
  10. It's not a Joke, Tom. I just heard there's a new study on the health hazards from exposure to second hand bacon cheeseburgers. They have the same of proof as they have about second hand smoke. None. But, it doesn't matter because they said so.
  11. Now that we see more pex, has anyone else noticed that that plumbers seem to not get the idea that it's meant to be bent and not jointed at every turn like copper?
  12. Why don't you give Joe Mahr a rattle? He might teach one or be able to direct you.

  14. I'm liking this idea before you write it it off. It won't cost you more than the phone call to figure it out.
  15. It faces north and never has a prayer of drying. The whole front of the house is a shroom factory. Click to Enlarge 55.91 KB Thanks for the correction. I'm tryn to edgikate my self more gooder at englsh.
  16. This place was built in 86. The stone is a mix of granite and other real stone. Is this meteorite bleeding, or do you think it's coming from behind? It's a junk installation, but no visible cracks around this rock. Click to Enlarge 68.02 KB Click to Enlarge 55.27 KB
  17. Darren, Does NJ require CO detectors in all homes, like NY?
  18. So, how many times have you heard one say, I don't use, We don't use? I have. How much business have you lost because some part time housewife / realtor didn't care for the way you DID your job as apposed to the inspector they use? I busted one three different times, trying to get a client to hire their inspector instead of me. When I got the initial call and asked who the realtor was, I warned each one of the clients, there was a good chance it might happen, and what might be said. All three times I was called back in less than an hour to be told that what I'd said was exactly what happened. They all hired me. Big deal! How many have been steered away? How many have been told whatever bullshit story that kept them, and maybe their friends from ever hiring me. The word used means nothing to me. The idea it's used ever, is what bugs me. Does this dress make me look super-sensitive?
  19. Please explain what you mean by "super-sensitive, insecure inspectors". You're just playing with us, right?
  20. You really can't blame the guy. After all, isn't that just what the folks who run the home inspection profession want to hear? Isn't that the exact type of inspector they use?
  21. After more than fifty years of inspectors working to gain the expertise and skills required to become a true professional, very little or nothing has been done to prevent a group people who are many times, no better than used lumber salesmenpeople from controlling and dictating whether or not we'll be able to pay our bills. How embarrassing. Don't think for a minute, allowing this to continue, and turning a blind eye to it, doesn't hurt everyone in this profession. The one eyed hacks that who submit their "deal friendly" empty checklists, are the guys the public perceive the rest of us to be. The buyers only know what they're told by the person driving the BMW. Six months down the road, when a wall falls in, the BMW driver is long gone, the hack settles, and the person with the problem tells fifty friends to not bother spending the money on an inspection. The BMW driver wins again. Fifty years of this. Why would you want to bust your ass trying to build any business, that could be taken apart in a heart beat by some lying son of a bitch, you can't protect yourself from because others in your profession are either comfortable with their arrangements, or simply don't have the guts to stand up and change it. Good luck, Dear James.
  22. Hmm... I wouldn't think they'd let things go like that in a 7000 square foot mansion. LOL!
  23. Give her a break. When was the last time anyone from abc abc was here?
  24. You're wrong! And I know an insulation contractor who will say so.
