    It has been a while since I inspected an mobile home. The ones I have inspected are older ones. I inspected a 2010 model Saturday and there where no AFCI's in it. I know they are built by other guide lines but I thought they had to meet the National code. Where can I go to, to find out about this. Thanks for your help.

    I open all the panel I can. Got to see if anything is wrong with it on the inside. This was done in 2005 by one of the bigger companies in the area.

    On one inspection I found a furnace and water heater vented into a vent like that.

    I have found a few places where the roof decking that bucked up had torn the felt paper and water was getting in. I wish I could find that photo. I was there when it was raining.

    Yeah, he'll probably be dressed in bib overalls, and come with an infrared camera. Wonder who'll get the royalty for that? The person you are talking about is not a true home inspector. He just plays one on TV.

    Its some one way to not installed and island vent. I wrote up that that there was no trap seen. That this was not a normal set up.

    Of course, all of that is superceded by this: 905.1 . . . Roof assemblies shall be applied in accordance with this chapter and the manufacturer's installation instructions. . . " Jim, How many AHJs reads the manufacturer's installation instructions. Very few do. Most builders are not going to do more than what the AHJ makes them do.

    If the home is for an investor I report it a different way then I would for someone trying to buy a house to live in An investor knows what going on. A first time home buyer does not.
