  3. Back when I installed metal for the built up roofing. They installed the roof to the edge and had a bleeder felt installed that run from under the bottom of the roof. I took roofing cement and seat it to the top of the roof. Then added more roofing cement Than nail the metal edge Be it gravel stop or other in place. We lapped the metal about 3" with a layer of roofing cement between the pieces of metal. Then the roofer came and stripped the metal off with layers of roofing. Then they installed the top of the roof with gravel or a cap sheet. When we use the gravel stop we cut and installed supper in any that was over a half inch tall to let the water drain. Your set up looks like they should of used a flat drip edge. IMHO
  4. Thanks for the info. Keep it coming. We have someone willing to help us on getting it change.
  5. Hi, I am on our local chapter politician committee. I would like some information from you if you can give it to me. I would like to know how long is the length of the liability time of your inspections in your state? What The law it is under and how I can find it? In my state it is a lifetime. We are looking at ways to have it changed. Also do you have to have business licenses in each little town you do inspections in? Thanks for your help.
  6. In an older home If there is a small window That does not meet the agrees and there is a closet I would tell them about the windows not being large enough for the egress. If there is no window in the roof I would take the code and show them what it says about being a bedroom. Just tell them you are letting them know for safety reasons.

  10. Mike, about 20 year ago we added on to my mothers house, added a new water heater for the new bathroom and inside laundry. About 8 month later the elbow on the cold water side started leaking. When my father and I when to fix it, we found that the pipe and elbow had been clean but not glued. So my father had a word or two to say to his son in law that was suppose to have done the gluing.
