David Meiland
In a tall crawl space from the 1970s... plywood skin on the underside of the joists... and I see this massive and unfamiliar thing. My mind is racing, thinking of all the bizarre, homemade mechanical equipment I've seen in this owner/builder hippie neck of the woods. The two steel tubes project well up through the floor and stop. Perhaps they were some kind of crazy heating system, long since abandoned. Click to Enlarge 45.3 KB

David Meiland
I bet they love it. Think about how easy it would be to sweep the floor around that thing, and the guests are never banging into the legs as they try to squeeze in for Thanksgiving dinner.
