Mark P
A federal probe of tainted Chinese drywall has broadened because a small number of homeowners are reporting that American-made drywall is causing some of the same problems: a sickening, sulfurous stench and corroded pipes and wiring. Is it really 50% cellulose?
Les
Mark, About 20 years ago there was a product made/sold? by US Gypsum called Euroboard that was 50% gypsum and cellulose. It was finished just like gypsum board with tape etc. Was on the market here in Mich for only a year or so and then disappeared. It had a sulphur smell during the "wet" phases of finishing and when it was primed. I really don't recall all the details, even 'tho I purchased hundreds of 4x8' sheets and had them installed. http://www.timberpanel.com.au/products/euroboard/ not exactly the same as what I used, but same idea.
