  1. Did someone say bathtub? From the Vicksburg flood of 2011 Click to Enlarge 63.39 KB
  2. Yep, we have a shallow frost line. The statistics also show that Bill is the 2nd most common first name among convicted murders in Eastern State Penitentiary.
  3. I never mention blowing out the system. No one would know how down here. I do tell buyers to winterize down here we simply shut off the water open the testcocks (or remove the backflow) and let the system run one cycle. There are a few more steps to winterize a pump system.
  4. Good Juju......................forgive me
  5. Love the integration of the whole family on your website. We have yet to add the newest member of our family, Major Scales the bearded dragon and head of I.T., to our site. http://www.brandonhomeinspector.com/abo ... mpany.html
  6. Whoa, Is that another new look for Bain?
  7. It all seems to be based on need. I'm a bit sanguine so I loose a few of those things now and then. Most of the housing I inspect is newer so bootlegs are less of a concern. When the older stock moves, like recently, its still a no brainer. Two prong gets replaced with three but the ground lug has nothing attached. KISS I keep one or two in the bag without a ground blade. I still want to know the two slot outlets function. I typically have a half dozen or so in the bag and more in the car. I'll load up all the outlets in the kitchen or baths at once and then test the GFCI function. Much quicker process. That's also why I wind up loosing a few. If things don't add up I whip out a multimeter and crunch the info. I do believe I'll steal the 12" whip idea for the floor plugs.
  8. And Ben Gay is not a substitute for Preparation H. An old joke I heard in the hills of TN. It related to the origins of the song "The ring of fire" by Johny Cash.
  9. As far as your rotating tools, you seem to have roughly twice the number that I have. So, how are you set for sockets?
  10. Mine was that there are lots of them out there. Any Bubba with half a brain,we have lots of those, can get one. And that is my opinion on what transpired. I do acknowledge you said "could".
  11. I have one and did not buy it at a big box store. They do sell them. I like PEX but it furthering the degradation of the trade.
  12. Back in the day before ridge vent became common, I recommended people replace the motor with a permanently lubricated version. Granger has motors with the same frame. At that time a turbine was my choice over a power vent. If you read the installation instructions that come with the power vents, the manufacturer directs the owner to oil the motor once a year.
  13. Not mad but that makes no sense. The photo was a screen shot of the link posted above. Removal of the photo changed nothing in the thread except one has to read through all the dribble to find the brochure shot.
  14. I take it this is what you wanted us to see and emulate. (I took out the link.....we don't want the fellow getting mad because we're making fun of him.......admin.)
  15. Even I get jealous of some of his finds. From the "land down under" the building codes.
  16. Most AHJs have adopted the IRC. No amendments. The lack of a cut off at/in the home is the least of our worries.
  17. Curb stop at the road. That is all there is.
  18. You seem to be stuck on that thought today.[:-censore
  19. But that's Chinese gas, Phillip. []Walmart is doing well, BTW. Down here WalMart is affiliated with Murphy oil. Murphy's fuel is pumped and refined here in the USA.
  20. You planning to keep it for 43 years? typo Make that 3000 per year. You'd never guess I started adult life as a accountant. It could explain why I left that field after 3 years.
  21. Put me in the presentable category. I drive an 06 SRX. I log 50k+ miles a year. I want a comfortable ride. I'm also cheap. The car cost 13k last Sept and had 72k on it. I limit my cost to own to 300 per year. I average 18.5 city and 22 hwy. On occasion I strap on a 24 or 32 an it works fine. The hatch has about 1/4" clearance but will not fully open. I like to front load the ladder a bit and add a third strap to the draw bar. I too fill the tubes with foam. Orientation of the rungs also affects wind noise. The last ride was a 03 Yukon Denali. MPG was embarrassing.
  22. What is standard pressure treated wood? .20 rated is for above ground use. If it is treated with .40 retention it is rated for direct contact with the earth. Try and find a 4 x 4 with a .20 rating. For the record. It last a long time here in the humid, wet, termite ridden south when placed in contact with the earth.
  23. Somebody help me out here. How do I obtain (copy) a link to this thread?
  24. You have some unique friends and a wonderful fun filled life. Enjoy your outing.
