From another web site: A dual-cell cooling tower consists of two attached towers, each with their own axial fan.Therefore a dual cell cooling tower has two axial fans, while a single cell cooling tower has one. Each manufacture might have a different arrangement for accomplishing the same thing. Do you have a make, model and serial from the tower shown in the picture? Word on the street is that it is 2 cooling towers and I will be discussing with the client. I just want to confirm the correct terminology. vilson Posted September 22, 2010 Report Share Posted September 22, 2010 Great post. Cooling towers are heat removal devices used to transfer process waste heat to the atmosphere. Cooling towers may either use the evaporation of water to remove process heat and cool the working fluid to near the wet-bulb air temperature or rely solely on air to cool the working fluid to near the dry-bulb air temperature. I think your's is the first question we've had about cooling towers on here in nearly 9 years. We're mostly home inspectors here.
