Erby Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Had this just outside the backyard. Click to Enlarge 104.61 KB Developer couldn't touch it because of historical preservation, but it doesn't look like anybody is in the process of preserving it. Money doesn't grow on trees for such things, I guess.
Ben H Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 I like how your watermark looks like spray paint on the house.....tisk tisk Erby.
Erby Posted February 17, 2012 Author Report Posted February 17, 2012 Leaving my mark on history, Ben. Sharp eyes. Most people never notice it. Though it does kind of stand out on this one. Kurt, don't really know. Based on others I've seen around here, 150 - 200 years.
Tom Raymond Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Silly preservationists, the OSB they used to board up the place is totally inaccurate.
Les Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 I wonder what was going on along that wall on the left. The old roof line looks like it was curved and the grade is different? Sad that it will sit until it falls down, then we all will lament the "loss".
Erby Posted February 18, 2012 Author Report Posted February 18, 2012 Don't know, Les. Probably an old kitchen addition or porch that no longer exists. Remember that, at least around here in that time period, the servant (slave) areas (kitchens, laundry, quarters, etc) were always a step or two lower than the owners areas. Though I did do one down in Richmond, KY a couple of years ago that had the servant quarters up in the attic area through a back stair case.
