Red Comet is still in business. You can buy this 1950's? automatic fire control on eBay for about $40.

The company also used to make these grenades for fire control which was a glass ball filled with some kind of fire extinguishing liquid that you could whip at a fire.

It's the same thing. That's just a metal canister with the glass fire-suppression grenade inside.

You have to open the cap and read the label on the glass to reveal if it contains carbon tetrachloride or CM7.

I kinda like that the direction says through grenade. My fire extinguisher sucks by comparison.
