On April 4th, veteran home inspector, Marty Hurst (47), of Home Assessment Services, Mesquite, Texas (TREC# 2513), died in a Dallas hospital of complications from a MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) infection.

Marty, who had been in ICU for nearly a month after contracting the infection, died after the infection spread to his liver, kidney, and lungs. He is survived by his wife and two teenage daughters.

Because Marty had been in poor health for the past couple of years, and due to the extended hospital stay, Marty's family is now facing substantial financial difficulties. Marty's brother Rick and Barry Adair, both home inspectors, have organized a relief fund for the family and are asking for donations. Anyone wishing to donate to the financial assistance fund set up for the Hurst family can do so by going to PayPal.com and donating to MHurstdonate@gmail.com

Cards, flowers, and donations by mail can be sent directly by mail to the Hurst family at: Marty Hurst, 2444 Edwards Church Rd, Mesquite, TX 75181-2504.

We here at TIJ extend our sympathy to the Hurst family.

Mike,

Our heartfelt thanks to you and all at or on TIJ for the support you have shown the Hurst families and me by getting this information out to our members and others.

I can't express how grateful the families are for the Inspector community and this show of support in their time of need.
