Bain Posted May 20, 2008 Report Share Posted May 20, 2008 This thirty-year-old furnace had been backdrafting so long, the flue gases actually ate a hole through the burner shield. The twenty-foot long, perfectly horizontal, single-wall flue-pipe connector was pristine 'cause the flue gases never passed through it.
