Richard Moore
Talking of which... I just saw this on Top Gear. http://www.intomobile.com/2007/04/14/re ... ndset.html As you can cradle it between your cheek and shoulder would it be an alternative for a hands-free device? Jim Katen
Still making a presence now and then. I remember showing my kids a dial phone and challenging them to figure out how it worked. They were stumped. When I demonstrated, they said, practically in unison, "You've got to be kidding." - Jim Katen, Oregon

RichNSpect
Still making a presence now and then. Click to Enlarge 28.99 KB I used to work for Bell Atlantic before they changed their name to Verizon. I was a fiber optic cable splicer and then a systems tech. You'll be surprised at how many rotary phones are still in use today. The one in your picture was a top of the line phone in it's day. Still just basic tip and ring Kevin
Scottpat
We have this phone in our guest bedroom. Still works, the ringer sounds like Big Ben when it goes off! It weighs 7lbs. Click to Enlarge 68.22 KB
Tom Raymond
I did a remodel job for a ham radio guru once, he had a desktop rotary in his radio room with all his high tech electronics. When I asked why he kept the clunker around he said that when the power went out it was the only phone in the house that still worked, and that if an intruder made it to his radio room it was heavy enough to beat him to death with.
