  1. There is a program called 'PDF Factory' that will combine all files you can print into 1 PDF.
  2. John, Not from my client, but the insurance company is requiring a complete roof replacement because of missing granular.
  3. Inspected a roof back in March; here are some photos. What would you say about this roof?
  4. March 2018 meeting minutes from NJ Home Inspectors Advisory Board; Incoming Correspondence Nick Gromicko, Founder, InterNACHI RE: InterNACHI Marketing Program January 25, 2018 Mr. Gromicko responded to the Committee’s request for additional information regarding a proposed marketing program which would provide real estate agents with a complimentary prelisting inspection on homes for sale which could be uploaded to their on-line property listings. 3 Mr. Gromicko stated that this marketing program has not yet been launched. He further advised that he would address any further questions from the Committee regarding the program’s development and InterNACHI’s intentions if requested. Can someone explain the end game here?
  5. Here's what I found at yesterdays inspection. Some ugly, some not so ugly.
  6. In newer townhouses, I've seen where there is a 'clean-out' door about 18 inches below the dryer connection.

    Oil Tank

What, if anything would you say about this oil tank. The stain is just that, a stain, not wet.
  8. I just got a complete knee replacement on my right knee 4 weeks ago. I got another 8 weeks of rehab. It ain't fun
  9. At the end of the 2nd article above, there is a link provided. Here's the one about venting; it's a cool video. http://www.elitesoft.com/pub/videos/gasvent/gasvent.htm

  12. They were installed in the offices on the last school I did 2 years ago. Start-up and trouble shooting was a big problem. There were some internal control problems that took a long time to get parts from the factory. After the initial start-up difficulty, they seemed to be working fine; no call backs from the school.
  13. Thanks to all, I'll try to cut it down over the weekend. Charlie, I was asking about my web page, not my example report. But since you mentioned it, I put the summary at the end, this way you have to at least thumb thru the report to get to the summary.
  14. My website has just been updated (thank you Mike). Take a look at my 'Reports' page and give me an honest opinion. Is it solid or cheesy? I'm try to show potential clients the difference in report 'writing' but don't want it to look cheap. http://aboutthehouseinspections.com/reports/ Thanks
  15. I like construction; see things 'grow' out of the ground. That's why crossing over to inspections was natural. If I had to do it again, I'm be a police detective; I was always watching Columbo, Banacek, and Ellery Queen. Sorta goes with home inspections; trying to figure things out with not much to go on.

    Draft Hood

What, if anything would you say about this? I've seen this installed where the opening is on the bottom at a rear venting unit, but not this. Thanks Click to Enlarge 57.01 KB
  18. Jim, I really think you are mistaken. He credits everyone who plays on any album. Name one album without him giving the musicians credit. As far as ego, check this video out and his answer on being remembered.
  19. YouTube is really terrific, there's some clips that show history being made. Here's a audio only of the Montreux Casino Fire (at the end, you can hear the confusion and the announcement that a fire has started) and the following interview Deep Purple's iconic 'Smoke On The Water' is a result of that fire. Anyway, here's a link to my channel and some job video's https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... rmermiller
  20. The trusses are sloped about 8 inches towards the center; in photo 1 you can see the roof drains line up with the center of the stairwell. The product is VersiFlex PVC by Versico Roofing Systems.

  22. Marc, Typically there are 15-18 wood framing carpenters on site. Several weeks ago they added 8-10 metal framers when we started the retail level.

  24. Steve, You mean the "Keep the Village a Village" protest? People hate change. I'm on site between 6:30 & 3:30; next time your around stop in.
  25. If you look in the rebar photo, you'll see sleeves for plumbing, electric and HVAC. One of the stipulations on this project is nothing can penetrate the exterior walls. There are 20 apartments, all with gas fired direct vent furnaces. The exhaust and fresh air intact PVC must run up and out the roof. The good thing is the apartments are stacked; layout on 3rd floor is exactly as 2nd floor. After the slab forms were in place, we had to layout the apartment walls prior to rebar to install the sleeves. Most were good, however, some of the sleeves were next to a door and now have to be moved because of the door header is blocking passage. Photos will keep coming.
