  1. Randy...I'm taking everything with humility. Didn't start 'till a few years ago, though, when I started participating on this and the ASHI boards. Amazing at how often we're so wrong when we are convinced we are so right. The software I uitlize is pretty basic, and since I'm doing this myself with little knowledge about computer stuff, this is about the best I can do in the little time I have. Perhaps I'll hire someone and employ some of your good suggestions. Thanks. Kurt...I got the font changed. Hopefully it looks better without the italics.
  2. Chad...those were very good suggestions. I already made some changes...thanks! Kurt...I've been trying to change the font out of italics, and the darn thing isn't cooperating. Gonna keep trying...I agree with you. Gonna also keep the realtor thing in and see what kind of response I get, though I did tone it down a tad 'cause of the good feedback I got here.
  3. Steve & Chris, Your thoughts are sincere, and I truly appreciate them. I don't yet know how the site is being responded to...I just did a major overhaul. However, with your remarks in mind, I'll likely do some more revisions, first taking a couple humility pills. Best, Jerry
  4. Anyone care to help me with an honest critique of my website? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks much. http://www.illinoisbuildinginspection.com
  5. Even more off track, does anyone hear client complaints about the difference in the grain colors of the granite? Seems like I hear such about half the time.
  6. Should one wish to be really precise, there is no such thing as *cold*; just degrees of heat. Ain't no degrees of cold.
  7. Just curious... If one says "electrical panelboard" instead of "panelboard enclosure", I could see a slight credibility problem in court,'cause one thing ain't the other. However, if one says "hot water heater" versus "water heater", what else could one mean? Everyone would know what you mean. What else could you mean? How does that create potential confusion? I don't see a problem saying "hot water heater". I remember correcting a Client about this years ago. Won't ever again...he thought I was a wise-ass.
  8. The Bears need help on the offensive line. I don't care who the QB is if there ain't a pocket to work from. (If you were from Chicago, you'd remember the old Black & Blue line from the mid 80's....THAT was a line.) Also sorry Rivera might be staying as defensive coordinator. Rushing four guys t'isnt the way to get to a QB. 'Course, that philosophy may change naturally since we saw a rookie tight-end with speed and instinct blossom the last few games. Truly sorry to hear about Drew...hope it won't affect a class act next year. Well, as of today, Rivera is no longer our defensive coordinator...the Bears let him go. That's a great start to next year; glad they took my advice. Off to baseball! Hey Brian...thanks. Looks good up on the wall.
  9. Mark, I know you're only about 150 miles or so from Anna, IL...have you had the good fortune yet to meet with, trade stories with, and learn from Ray Hogan?

  11. Serves him right...he probably owes somebody some money and is late paying.

Good Rex. Bad Rex. Train Rex.

    Da Bears

My prediction... Da Bears, 524, The Horsies, -5 Really, though, Bears 27, Horsies 21. Hey, did someone lose my address (Brian)?
  14. Uhmmm... Isn't the 10-2-3 rule meant for chimneys serving solid-fuel burning appliances or fireplaces?
  15. I killed one of those once in my crawl space.
  16. Well, golly, Jesse, if you read my post, I said I put it in my report. Geez, just wondering if I missed a code reference somewhere.
  17. When I see a window sill/stool being very close to the floor,(12" for example),especially for a hung-style window, I put a safety note in the report about kids rough-housing next to such an open window possibly falling out. Anyone else care about this? I always thought code should address this, but far as I know, it doesn't.
  18. Uhmmm... Anyone catch the score of the Bears game? Thanks much.
  19. Bears 27 Saints 10 Gonna surprise a lot of people.
  20. Goodman... Ya on for that ten-spot?
  21. Outside lines can disperse heat much more readily than ones inside can, thus outside lines have higher amperage ratings than do inside lines of the same size.
  22. On a related note, and perhaps *might* explain why B-vent shouldn't be connected to a draft hood, an HVAC guy once told me screws are not allowed in B-vent. Don't know if either is true, though.
  23. Brian, Our Bears have been sand-bagging. Even-up, I'll take the Bears,a ten-spot. Jerry
  24. "Heaven forbid an elderly person get out a rag and try to clean it up!" Naturally. We all know that's the job of the real estate agent.
  25. "Words. They're inadequate, but they're all we got." Not really. I've been sending you telepathic images all day, and they work just fine. I know, 'cause you're ignoring them just like you ignore me in person.
