  1. I have a 12' x 40' patio of stamped concrete. No low spots or foot prints. I have a stamped concrete walkway 60' with a 12' x 12' apron at the entry door. No low spots or footprints. If you Google Stamped Concrete Associations you will get a number of sources to find out what the standards are.
  2. Yes, some of us did, and we also noticed that the exterior main disconnect was on the exterior.
  3. Check for improper venting of your gas appliances. If that is ok then just undo some of the things you did so you get air leaks again. Probably cheaper than running appliances to remove the humidity you created.
  4. I would do the treatment before encapsulation.
  5. I still find some good old Chlordane when I go to garage sales. Nice to keep a little around for those hard to kill bugs.
  6. Bought my kids the GoPro for Christmas. You can use your cell phone to view what the camera sees and give you really great control over your pix. The camera is smaller than a pack of cigarets and only weighs a few ounces. Gopro.com
  7. The 60 amp breaker wire looks like #8 which should be adequate for your needs. No GFCI for your pool pump? Is the sub panel properly connected to the main panel?
  8. Warm and humid is what subs like. Plus a food source, of course.
  9. As a licensed supervisor pest control guy I think your statement does not make sense. They are there, they got there, they did and are doing their thing and I would venture based on the size of mud they have swarmed a number of times. Subs have been found in northern areas of Canada and VC has more moderate temps so no reason they would not survive there.
  10. We ran the necessities for a three family with an inverter hooked up to a car. Power was out 5 days. Worked great to power some lights, refrigerators and the boiler. Just needed a 30 minute idle every three or four hours to keep the house warm. One boiler, three zones.
  11. When I sign on to TIJ I get the number of active topics at the top but it is always one number over how many there are. Is it my computer or do others see this? When I posted this message it said 5 active topics but there are only 4 including my message.
  12. I used that description to teach my kids basic math concepts when they were little. (35 years ago) I recently overheard my son using the concept with one of my grandkids. Glad he remembered. What gozouta your business determines what gozinta your pocket.
  13. The picture with the link is not a hole. Usually the holes you describe are to inject chemical for termite treatment. The spacing is so the chemical distributes evenly throughout the block. You should look closely on the interior to see if there are any holes in floors, closets, pantry, etc. No reason not to cover them.

  15. If the bathroom heat is under the location of the ice the humidifier may be set to run continuously creating excess moisture. If the plumbing vent we see is connected to an appliance in the outer wall it could be disconnected or cracked.
  16. What am I missing? 6 Month old threads popping up?
  17. " If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, It cannot save the few who are rich. " John F. Kennedy Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961
  18. Nothing wrong with Hydro-air systems as long as the source is adequate to meet demand. 15 years would seem to be an acceptable time to replace the unit but before you do have someone do a thorough heat loss calculation to properly size your replacement. You might also want to consider a small on-demand water heater to supplement your showers during very cold winters.
  19. US Radiator published a Red Top C series booklet in 1934. Would reason stand that the B was before the C?
  20. The two minute tripping thingy sounds like an overheating issue that may lead to a fire which will surely lead to damage of your plaster walls. You can play around with minor repairs until then.
  21. Better yet, rewire back to the circuit breaker or fuse with modern wire and ground the outlets.
  22. That looks like "Antis-eatemupis". Do you have a state lab you can contact or a university nearby?
  23. I would hope so!
  24. I have a 7kw, 3,000 sq ft house. I use long extension cords wired in to dedicated breakers. Turn off the main breaker (200 amp), start the genset and back feed. Tank of gas is good for about 10 - 12 hours under normal load.
  25. Check all the GFCI outlets in the house and Garage to see if one needs to be reset.
