cbass
Are you guys aware of the clearance requirements for a sidewall flue for a gas fireplace? This is a Trex deck. Thanks in advance. Click to Enlarge 35.18 KB
Mike Lamb
NFPA 12.9.2, 12.9.3. Minimum 12" above finished grade.
cbass
No issue being too close to the decking?
John Kogel
A) 12" Clearance above grade, veranda porch, deck or balcony. This is from a Napolean Direct Vent Fireplace installation manual. If you have the make and model, Google search for the manual. That decking is restricting the combustion air intake as well as being too close to the exhaust. Mike Lamb
I consider the deck to be the finished grade so yes, I would call it an issue.
Jim Katen
Do we really need a reference for something like this? Seriously?
Denray
Deck was probably added after the flue was there, by the owner. They did a nice job except for the intake and heat thing. [:-taped] What's the problem? It's been that way for months now.
