Terence McCann
Most new homes have a type of blown in insulation in the attic that looks almost like cotton batting. What type of material is this? Tanks.
Jim Morrison
Sounds like you're describing blown in fiberglass to me.
ambago
Sounds like cellulose insulation. It is normally made out of recycled materials (usually mostly recycled newspapers). The stuff is great because it isn't itchy, and is not as harmful on the lungs as fiberglass. There is a manufacturers association for it "CIMA" http://www.cellulose.org . Although they do also make cotton batting & loose fill insulation. What color was it?
hausdok
Sounds like blown fiberglass to me. I crawl through about a mile and half of that stuff every week. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike

Les
Sounds like "Insul-fil" White tuffed soft non-irritating, hypo allergenic, blah, blah, blah. Good stuff.
Terence McCann
Thanks for the link Chad. That's the stuff. Pretty nice too, you don't come out of an attic itching and sneezing, hard to believe it's fiberglass.
