Bill Kibbel
That was part of the Keasbey & Mattison Company, manufacturer of many asbestos building products. I'm intimately familiar with one of the factory buildings that manufactured that brand, the company founder's mansion and several of the executives' homes. http://www.oldhouseweb.com/blog/the-cas ... -asbestos/ Coincidentally, I'm in Ambler next Tuesday to inspect a medical office building that used to be a K&M exec's home. kurt
You should have cut it out and embroidered it on one of your T shirts.

Chad Fabry
You should have cut it out and embroidered it on one of your T shirts. I made an offer on the building. I'll know tomorrow if they accepted it. I like the embroidery idea.

I knew you'd educate me about the company. It's half the reason I posted the picture.
kurt
What kind of building? Any building full of asbestos is probably an interesting building.
mjr6550
Ambler is full of interesting old houses built for the executives. Up till a couple years ago they had a mountain of asbestos in the town. It was remediated by covering it with dirt and putting a fence around it. Quite a few clients told me that when they were young all the kids used to play on the mountain of asbestos.

John Kogel
They were obviously proud of their products. I see an asbestos mountain behind those buildings. Did that all get shipped away?
Jim Katen
Always wondered: is the term "air cell" a brand name or a generic term for the product?
Bill Kibbel
Always wondered: is the term "air cell" a brand name or a generic term for the product? Air-cell must be a generic trade name. I've seen the term on K&M, JM, Ehret and Gast products and many times in old mechanical engineering books describing the product.
