Jim Baird
...I think we all quote prices according to rough standards, and usually "sight unseen". Sometimes we eat the bear and sometimes he eats us...

Bill Kibbel
The $2500 may be including a footing, but even then the price is high. The material cost for the column is less than $100. An invoice I viewed recently - work performed by a decent carpenter. I've seen him work with a helper. I think he sends the helper to solo on small jobs. -Replace 4' of sill -sister 2 joists -replace termite damaged beam -add a steel column to beam. $2670
Erby
Ah, yeah, sometimes we get eaten. I wondered why they even bothered with an inspection. Click to Enlarge 66.08 KB Trampoline floors. Click to Enlarge 52.79 KB
