Mike Lamb
This box was in the backyard of a property I looked at. There are wires feeding it directly from the utility pole and the supplies are hot. There are conductors coming out the bottom of this thing and going directly into the ground. Besides hot conductors being way too close to grade I'm not sure what say about this. I did some googling and it seems to be some kind of lightning protection? Any words of enlightenment are appreciated. https://trademarks.justia.com/736/49/rc ... 49229.html Click to Enlarge 56.01 KB Click to Enlarge 85.47 KB Click to Enlarge 131.82 KB
Marc
Are any loads served by that weatherhead? House, outbuilding, water well, outdoor lighting, etc? Marc
Mike Lamb
I don't think so. The wires running from the box into the ground had no power.

Mike Lamb
I feel like Rosanna Danna. It's lighting control, not lightning control. Still I never seen something like this.

Bill Kibbel
I've seen them on farms and commercial yards. It's a remotely operated relay switch for "street lights" up on poles.
