I seem to reme,ber seeing somewhere thatthis is not allowed. However, I cant seem to locate where that was. I checked the 2006 IRC and could not locate. Darren As far as I can tell, the step-up requirement was never a part of the IRC or CABO before it. As I recall, it was a UBC thing. The sills of all door openings between private garages and adjacent interior spaces shal be raised not less than 4 inches above the garage floor.
