charlieb
Lookin for a bit of help here. My question relates to air gaps and air breaks. inspector57
Depends on your local AHJ interpretation. Around here, all municipalities are ok with attic units draining into the tail piece of a downstairs bathroom sink. Of course I am in the land of slab foundations and we never have basements with floor drains and such.

I've heard of this method but down here in the land of hall closets and attic installs it is always stubbed into an open trap. I interpret that as an air break but was having a debate with another inspector. Seldom is a trap installed in a discharge line.
