  1. I was hoping M.S .J would jump in. As far as magnetisim goes,if you find an insulator you would be a rich man just from the energy that could be produced. As far as electricity goes the history channel has been doing some good stuff on Ben Franklin lately. They say his theories of grounding hold true today. He also is credited as being a pioneer in battery research. The term was actually an offshoot from the military in regards to a group of cannon.
  2. Ok.. compare to a bar magnet which has no insulator. Speaking of which can you name one material that blocks magnetism.
  3. The earth will not run out of electricity either, or did you forget even our bodies contain it.
  4. A Real Estate agent put these on her blog, leaving the impression she took them and they were things missed by inspectors her client had the nerve to hire without her consent.Needless to say we sparred.
  5. The middle is neutral much like the center of the earth in relation to gravity.? Interesting question.
  6. Des Plaines.
  7. Thanks Terry that was an excellent description and helps a lot. I was not able to see the furnace but was told it is gas vented with the same blower unit so I am sure you are correct. Some one did mention they had a Trane from 1947 that still works on my association forum while I have been trying to stubbornly research this unit.
  8. I agree ,and will make sure to reaffirm to my client that looking over reserve funds and meetings is more important in this instance.
  9. The amount of water condensation was more than I am used to seeing, but figure this may be normal for this type of system. Looks like I may simply need to put it under the hated refer to qualified contractor catagory. The only info afforded me was through a board member of the association of five buildings whom told me they replaced the outside unit at hers two weeks ago for 30 grand ,so I figure this may follow suit. This could be a consideration for my client if funds were drained. When I was there I thought the word was combiner as the compartment holds a blower and exchanger only. I love this job for these little puzzles.
  10. Nothing under that name either, although any info on even what type of unit this is would help. Both pipes in the pic are cold . Image Insert: 74.43 KB
  11. Building built in 1963 and I am guessing this is original.Condo conversion four years ago. Main unit is outside in a corral with 3 fans and I am not able to get info on this brand name. Looks like Knitzan or knitgan?panel Any info would really help.No plates were seen outside other than the main shutoff to the unit.Inside the living unit had a blower in the bottom section and kept the place cool.I am guessing this is some kind of chiller unit of which I am starved for info. 12. I am not the worlds best writer myself as I have no patience for going back to edit my remarks if not necessary. The idea of lots of pictures with tight captioning is a good one that I use myself. Clients and others that see my reports love them. It is all a matter of playing to your stenghths John.Go check out my style John and you will see a diferent way to convey info. Some of these guys have been chiming in opinions on this board a long time and their use of verbage shows it. In the short time of oh.. about 9 months my typing or writing skills have increased some and so will yours.
  13. Bettor.. but to much use of the term not present, and just my opinion but I felt a lack of flow which is hard to explain while running out the door, but that was my quick impression. The red comments need to be tightened up.
  14. I'm in as my weight fluctuates between 185-220 and has stayed around 215 for the last 6 months. Hanging out on a computer has done this to me so please give me an incentive. In the past dropping 30 pounds over the summer was easy, but I am beginning to worry.
  15. They need to be weather proof.
  16. I hope you did not give the poor thing Rabies
  17. Hi john here is a good link also. see page twenty on the PDF. http://www.vinylsiding.org/publications ... nglish.pdf
  18. If you are looking for great educational benefits and there is a local chapter near you I would not rule out NACHI as a great source of information. My local chapter is so powerful in the Chicago area that we now have our own forum. The support you get from your brothers is incredible,as others seem to focus on our strong though dis-functional web presence.
  19. Ask anything ,the guys live for this stuff.

Great find Steve. I guess I can throw out the book I bought last year.
  21. Hi Steve..Is that flux on the one to the left. Flux on the flex.Hmmmm.
  22. Twisting may not prove anything, however from what you stated it could be a case of poor workmanship. I would recommend sanding lightly at the joint connection in order to see if it begins leaking again, but the owner may not appreciate the effort if it does. One trick might be to place a sheet of toilet tissue against the bottom and see if there is moisture still present.
  23. It is found there in most software.
  24. Actualy a slow drip could have been there at one time then sealed it self shut,as I have seen many times over the years. Oh ..and if everyone remembers a recent thread on copper,I found out copper turns dark before turning green.
  25. Just check out our samples as suggested.and you will start to see a pattern you need.
