Thanks Jim. Was there a specific era it was used? Was/is it common. Any good as an insulator?

I associate it with houses from the '40s and '50s. I've only seen it a half dozen times or so - it wasn't common in my area. I see much more Kimsul from that period.

No idea how effective it is as an insulator.
